Okay... the movie was called My Side of the Mountain and it was made back in 1969--so it definitely was not the kid from A Christmas Story.
I saw that movie when I was kid, and seeing as how this was made even before I was born, I was watching a rerun.
It's funny the kind of things that stick with us!
